When installing check valves, there are some taboos that need to be noted:
1、 Prohibit reverse flow:
Check valves should be installed on pipelines for flowing media to ensure that fluid can only flow in one direction and backflow is prohibited. If backflow is possible, other measures should be taken, such as installing bidirectional check valves.
2、 Do not invert:
Check valves should be installed correctly in the direction indicated by the arrow on the installation label or user manual, and inverted installation is prohibited. Inverted operation can cause the check valve to fail to function properly.
3、 Do not tighten excessively:
During installation, check valves or pipe connections should not be overly tightened to avoid damaging the valve body and sealing surface.
4、 Prohibit the use of inappropriate sealing materials:
When selecting sealing materials, appropriate materials should be chosen based on fluid properties and working conditions. Do not use sealing materials that are incompatible with fluids to avoid leakage or corrosion.
5、 Do not open the check valve under high temperature and pressure:
Under high temperature and pressure conditions, the pressure inside the pipeline should be gradually released first, and the check valve should be opened only after the pressure drops to a safe range to avoid danger.
6、 Cutting or welding on check valves is prohibited:
During installation and maintenance, cutting or welding on the installed check valve should be avoided to avoid damaging the valve body and sealing surface, which may affect normal use.
7、 Do not use excessive traffic:
According to the rated flow rate of the check valve, appropriate valve size and pipeline size should be selected. Do not exceed the rated flow rate of the check valve to avoid affecting the performance and service life of the valve.
In short, when installing check valves, the manufacturer's installation instructions and usage instructions should be followed, and the operation should be carried out according to the specific situation to ensure the normal use and safety performance of the check valve.
